Our Faith

Fountain of Life’s vision is: to preach and teach the full gospel of our Lord JesusChrist. And our mission is: to equip the saints to live according to God’s Will and to share the Gospel with others.

STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

The Bible is our all-sufficient rule of faith, and practice. Therefore, these declarations of Fundamentals Truths are our basis of Fellowship amongst ourselves.

THE INSPIRED SCRIPTURES

The Bible (Holy Scriptures) is the inspired Word of God, God’s revelation to mankind, infallible rule of faith and conduct and superior to the conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason. (2 Timothy 3:15-16; 1 Peter 2:2)

THE ONLY TRUE GOD

The only true God has reveled Himself as eternal existent by Himself, and revealed by Himself as “I AM”. He has also revealed Himself as having the principles of parenthood and unity; i.e., Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:35; Luke 3:22)

THE TRINITY

A. Definition of Term.

The term “Trinity” as related to the deity, even though not found in Scriptures, determining that it is in perfect harmony with the Holy Scriptures, thereby enabling us to transmit to others our immediate understanding of the doctrine of Christ as existing as part of God in contrast to “The many gods and the many false lords”. We can, therefore, speak, with all property of our Lord, as our God, who is only one Lord, be it as a trinity or as a being of the three persons, and at the same time be totally within the Holy Scriptures. (Matthew 2:6; 8:16, 17; Acts 15:15-18)

B. Distinction and Relationships in the Deity

Christ taught the distinction of persons in the Deity with well expressed relationship terminology as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; but that this distinction and relationship is profound and without complete understanding, is true, because it remains unexplained. (Matthew 11:25-27; Luke 1:35; 1 Corinthians 1:24; 28-29; 2 Corinthians 13-14; John 1:3-4)

C. Identity and Cooperation in the Trinity

The Father, the Son, and The Holy Spirit are never identical with respect to persons, for they are three persons. They are not to be confused with respect to relationship nor divided with respect to Deity, nor in opposition with regards to cooperation. The Son is in the Father, and the Father is in the Son with regards to relationship; the Son is with the Father and the Father is with the Son with regards to fellowship. The Father does not proceed from the Son, but the Son does proceed from the Father, with regards to authority. The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and Son with regards to nature, relationship cooperation and authority. As such that none of the three persons of the Divine Trinity exist or work separately or independently of the others. (John 5:17-30, 32, 37).

MANKIND, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION

Man was created good and righteous, for God said: “Let Us make man in Our image according to Our Likeness”. But man by his voluntary transgression fell and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Genesis 1:26-31; 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21)

THE BAPTISM IN WATER

The mandate of the Baptism in water by immersion as a burial with Christ, should be observed as is ordered in the Holy Scriptures, by all who have really repented and have truly accepted Christ in their hearts as their Lord and Savior. In so doing, they have washed their bodies in pure water as a symbol of internal purification.

THE LORD’S SUPPER

The Lord’s Supper, composed of two elements, unleavened bread and the pure fruit of the vine,   is symbolic of the fact that we are participants of the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:4; 1 Corinthians 11:26)

THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is evident in the believer by the initial and physical sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gave them utterance (Acts 2:4)

TOTAL SANCTIFICATION

The Holy Scriptures teaches a life of holiness. Total holiness is the will of God for all believers and should be practiced diligently by obeying the Word of God. (Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 1:15-16; 1 John 2:6)

THE CHURCH

The Church is the body of Jesus Christ; every convert born of the Holy Spirit is an integral part of the general assembly and church of the first-borns, whose names are written in Heaven. (Ephesians 1:22-23; Hebrews 12:13)

THE MINISTRY AND EVANGELISM

We believe in a divinely called and biblically ordained ministry which has been provided by our Lord Jesus Christ, with a double purpose: (1) World Evangelism. (2) For the edification of the body of Christ. (Mark 16: 15-20; Ephesians 4: 11-13)

TITHE- SUPPORT OF THE MINISTRY

A. A Laborer is deserving of his wages (Matthew 10:10)

B. All persons accepted as members are obligated to comply with his religious and financial duties. (Genesis 14:20, 28:29, 22; Leviticus 27: 30; Malachi 3:7-10)

C. The tithes shall be used for the support of the Church, minister, and the spread of the Gospel and not for other illicit purposes.

DIVINE HEALING

Freedom from sickness is provided for the Expiatory Sacrifice and it is the privilege of all believers. (James 5:14-15; Isaiah 53:4-5; Mark 16:17-18; 1 Peter 2:24)

THE PRE-MILLENNIUM AND COMING OF CHRIST

We believe in the pre-millennium and the imminent coming of Christ to gather His people unto Him. This is the resurrection of those that slept in Christ and their movement, together with those that live, to meet with the Lord in the air. Let it be known that after this there will be a period of seven years time, called the Great Tribulation, when the Anti-Christ will be revealed. And it will end with the Battle of Armageddon and the revelation of Christ with His angels in holy flames of firer and His saints (the Church) to executed judgment on earth. (2 Thessalonians 1:7; Titus 2:3; Zach. 44:1-9)

THE MILLENNIUM KINGDOM OF CHRIST

The Revelation of Christ from Heaven, the Salvation of Israel as a nation, and the millennium Kingdom of Christ on Earth, is the Biblical promise of God for the world.  (2 Thessalonians 1:7; Revelations 19:11-14; 20:1-7)

LAKE OF FIRE

The Devil and his angels, the Beast and the False Prophet and all those NOT found in the Book of Life, shall be condemned to eternal punishment in the Lake of Fire, which burns with fire and sulpher, which is the second death. (Revelation 19:20; 20:10-15)

THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH

We, according to His promise await New Heavens and New Earth in which justice shall reign. (2 Peter 3:13; Revelations 21:22)
